Now that the weather is heating up, it’s time to pull the personal watercraft cover off your boat and get prepared for boating season. Of course, before you hit the water for the first time, there are some preseason checks and maintenance to take care of. One of the first, and most basic, procedures is to flush your engine, which should be done prior to launching it the first time.
Also be sure to check the levels of oil and coolant in your engine, as well as the filters. It is advisable to check all of the major components for rust and any evidence of wear and corrosion as well. Inevitably, boat maintenance is the last thing you want to do when you are staring a pristine, crystal clear waters—but you’ll be glad that you did.
